Are Crypto Casinos Legit? How to Check Before You Deposit

The honest answer

Some are, some are not. "Crypto casino" describes a payment method, not a standard of conduct. The gap between a licensed operator running certified games and an anonymous site with a wallet address is enormous — and the two can look identical on the homepage.

The good news: five checks, done in about ten minutes, filter out most of the bad ones.

Check 1 — The licence, and who issued it

A legitimate operator names its licensing authority and licence number in the footer, and the regulator's register confirms it. Curacao, Anjouan, the Isle of Man and Malta are the names you will see most often in this market.

Be precise here. A licence badge that is only an image, with no number and no link, proves nothing. Neither does a licence issued to a company that no longer exists.

Check 2 — Real game studios

Certified slots come from studios that will not licence their content to anyone: Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, Push Gaming, Play'n GO and their peers. Their presence means the games have been tested by an independent lab.

If the lobby is full of titles you cannot find anywhere else, with no studio name attached, the random number generator has not been verified by anyone.

Check 3 — Withdrawal terms, before you deposit

Read the payout section of the terms, not the banner. Look for the daily and monthly withdrawal limits, the fee per payout, the identity verification threshold, and whether the operator reserves the right to cancel winnings from bonus play. A site that pays well but caps withdrawals at a low daily figure is slow by design.

Check 4 — Bonus terms that are actually achievable

A 500 percent bonus with 60 times wagering on the bonus and deposit is worth less than a 100 percent bonus at 30 times on the bonus alone. Check the game weighting too — if slots count 10 percent, the requirement is effectively ten times bigger than it reads.

Check 5 — How complaints get handled

Search the operator name alongside the word "withdrawal" on independent forums. Patterns matter more than single angry posts. Repeated reports of accounts closed after a win, or verification demands that never end, are the clearest red flag in this industry.

What we check on CasinoCheck

Every operator in our listings is reviewed against the licence on record, the game studios present, the published payout speed, the payment methods supported and the bonus terms as written. Where a detail is not confirmed, we leave it out rather than fill it in.
